NCTO voices concerns over USTR’s textile mechanism, part of administration’s Section 301 actions on forced labor

The National Council of Textile Organizations expressed concern that the U.S. Trade Representative’s proposed textile mechanism could unintentionally disadvantage domestic manufacturers by benefiting Asian apparel producers at the expense of U.S. and Western Hemisphere supply chains. NCTO is urging reforms that would strengthen American textile manufacturing, protect regional sourcing and more effectively combat forced labor.
