From stay-at-home mom to entrepreneur: How one woman’s frustration with a falling bag led to a thriving business, with aid of Manufacturing Solutions Center,* North Carolina Manufacturing Extension Partnership

Kim Hart, a 56-year-old first-time entrepreneur, started her business, Rydir, out of a personal pain point she experienced while traveling. As a mother of four, she and her family traveled extensively with only carry-on luggage. The constant challenge was keeping her overstuffed tote bag – filled with everything from makeup and extra shoes to video games – from falling off the top of her rolling carry-on. She had to deal with the frustrating experience of her belongings spilling out in busy airport terminals.
