U.S. manufacturing expanded for a fifth consecutive month in May as the Institute for Supply Management’s Manufacturing PMI rose to 54, its highest level since May 2022. While the report points to strengthening factory activity and growing new orders, manufacturers continue to cite concerns about inflation, geopolitical uncertainty and supply chain disruptions.
