A startup firm specializing in advanced material detection of textile waste will soon achieve its first technology deployment with customers. For Oakland, Calif.-based Refiberd, this is another step in the effort to tackle the global textile waste dilemma. Refiberd was founded in 2020 by Sarika Bajaj and Tushita Gupta, who met while pursuing engineering degrees at Carnegie Mellon University. Bajaj, whose background is in textile research, previously worked at Intel on experimental fashion technology.
