Tariffs cut both ways for U.S. upholstery manufacturers

Hefty tariffs on Chinese imports are good news for made-in-the-U.S.A. upholstery businesses—if they stay in place. Fabric makers such as, Crypton Fabric and David Rothschild Co., Inc. are seeing new demand from furniture makers looking to switch to domestic suppliers from Chinese vendors. But they are cautious amid uncertainty around the tariff rollout and consumer demand.
