Walmart and H&M are trying to turn carbon dioxide into clothes

Walmart is piloting technology with startup Rubi to capture carbon dioxide emissions and convert them into cellulose-based fibers for clothing, aiming to reduce the fashion industry’s environmental impact. Walmart and other major brands are still in the testing phase, as the process shows promise but faces challenges in scaling production to make carbon-derived apparel widely available.
