U.S. manufacturing holds up as costs gauge hits four-year high, textile mills lead

U.S. manufacturing expanded for a fourth straight month in April, but rising input costs hit a four-year high. Textile mills were among the top-performing sectors, even as tariffs, supply chain pressures and geopolitical uncertainty drove up raw material prices and dampened hiring.
