The Textile Technology Center at Gaston College in Belmont NC is a unique centralized resource, providing product development services, product testing and textile training to the industry for over 75 years. As a recognized partner for innovation, the Textile Center is continually enhancing its services and capabilities to help textile companies develop new products, new applications or evaluate new technologies and new processes. No other facility offers the wide range of capabilities and industry expertise to assist clients with cost effective prototyping, backed up with technical data and delivered in a quick response timeframe. With state of the art equipment and production expertise, the Textile Technology Center operates as a full service “mini mill" ---- with the ability to spin new fibers, produce filament and staple spun yarns, weave fabrics, dye and test --- all under one roof. Textile training classes are also offered ---- from basic textile fundamentals to client customized training. The mission of the Textile Technology Center is to strengthen and support the textile industry, serving fiber producers, yarn spinners, fabric manufacturers, converters, dyers, finished product fabricators and retailers.
